Well in pursuit of resources a new continent was found. Though abundant in the resources needed for this new industrial age it also came with long believed extinct races, religions, and magics. After decades of bloody conflict a cease fire was established splitting the continent in two. The west became known as the Free lands, the east belonged to the church, and the space in between was the borderlands.
With the introduction of the locomotive a new movement to take the west began in the capitol of the east. As men and resources flowed west, it became apparent that the border towns were no longer following all the teachings of the church. A new order, an Inquisition was formed in order to combat this unforeseen heresy. An Inquisitor has the power to question, to judge, and punish all those in opposition of the church.
